Our story, our team and the philosophy behind the Academy.
Who we are
Doggy Day Academy is a small, family-run school for dogs based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. We combine structured daycare with positive, games-based training so every dog leaves us happier, calmer and better educated than when they arrived.
Meet Jane
Jane is our founder and lead trainer. She holds accreditations with PDT, DTC, IMDT and ADBT, and has studied under internationally-respected trainers including Sarah Whitehead, Dr Ian Dunbar and Victoria Stilwell. Jane is a member of the PPG and PPN and continues her CPD every year — because, as she likes to say, if your trainer doesn't have a trainer, get another trainer.
Our ethos
We believe in kind, effective, reward and games-based training. No harsh methods are ever used at the Academy. We work with high staff-to-dog ratios so every pup gets one-to-one attention throughout the day.
Fully licensed and insured
The Academy holds a licence with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and is fully insured. Our team is trained in canine body language and canine first aid, and our drivers are DBS-checked with air-conditioned, fully-caged vehicles.
